Blackmagic Design has changed the “BAR” of recording video quality, previously set to 4K, to 12K for the Video Camera industry with the launch of its new Production camera Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 12K. This advanced Digital Film Camera can shoot video at 12288 x 6480 with the help of 80 megapixels, 12K super 35 sensor and has 14 stops dynamic range, built-in Super Mini Body.
Video can be shoot at 60 fps in 12K, 110fps in 8K and up to 220fps in 4K with Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 12K.
This camera features interchangeable PL Mount, which means it can be swapped for Canon EF an Nikon F mounts an also compatible with its wide range of high-end Camera Lenses.
Also features like Built-in ND filters, 14 stops of dynamic range and native 800 ISO, New Blackmagic RAW for real-time 12K editing, Generation 5 Color Science with new film curve, Dual card CFast recording at up to 900MB/s, SuperSpeed USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 expansion port for recording or fast transferring data to external SSDs.
Who will watch 12K videos? If you think this, then this is the wrong question to ask. Because this Camera is probably will help filmmakers to shoot video in 12K and capture the smoothest video footage at different lower resolutions in which people are willing to watch content. Oversampling footage provides filmmakers more flexibility to get the high-end result by shooting at 12K resolution will give uncropped 8K or 4K footages.

Though the price of $9,995/ ₹8,76,500 is much high for the most of the film creators, but is reasonable compared to Cinema cameras from RED and Canon. This camera will be available worldwide later this month.
