Tenet will see an international market “DEBUT” first, before the US release

US will see City-by-city release in September first week

Will TENET see the dark Cinema Halls in 2020?

Might be possible. But Christopher Nolan’s long-awaited Tenet movie will not release first in the United States for its preliminary launch. As the security considerations surrounding the pandemic have to keep in mind. It will be rolled out to a many of worldwide territories weeks before the US release.

With 70 worldwide territories, together with Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Russia, and the United Kingdom in mind, Warner Bros. is gearing faster to launch Tenet on August 26th, also with a press launch.

Interestingly, the studio doesn’t have plans at present to launch Tenet in China due to ongoing pandemic situation crisis. Tenet will be released into selected theatres in the United States from September beginning.

Staggered release of Tenet, which is not the ideal way, was already mentioned by the executives last week in the AT&T’s earnings call. Releasing the film in international markets, where there are not many coronavirus cases will provide the hope to the studio to boost the revenue in this situation, especially without a national opening in the United States.

The cloud is not clear in which cities of the US the film will be released, but hotspots like Los Angeles will don’t get the release. Unlike other countries around the world that have decreased the spread of COVID-19, the United States is seeing new cases peak in several states every day.

Tenet was delayed three times previously by Warner Bros., as it is a $200 million movie and ongoing pressure from Nolan to make theatrical release of Tenet, studio Warner Bros. found itself in a situation to make movie release on a city-by-city basis in the United States.

Warner Bros. already given its animated Scooby-Doo movie as an on-demand rental title to HBO Max, before it landed on Warner Media’s streaming service. Other studios like Disney also have taken some of its highly anticipated theatrical titles, like Hamilton, Fox Star Studio moved some Indian movie titles like late Shushant Singh Rajput’s “Dil Bechara”, Alia Bhatt’s Sadak 2, Akshay Kumar’s Laxmmi Bomb, Ajay Devgn’s Bhuj and Abhishek Bachchan’s The Big Bull moved it exclusively to Disney Plus (Hotstar).

It may be possibility that Warner Bros. may delay the release of Tenet again, which is like the never-ending game of release date musical chairs. It is hard to stay certain in this ever-changing world.
